The Foamie Mongrel was supposedly discovered behind a caravan park in Crescent Head, leaning against a tap with no explanation and three different wax types on it. No one claimed it, so it simply became everyone’s board. Tough, unbothered and weirdly good at everything, it earned the name Mongrel because it never complained and always showed up.
With a soft top and a hard bottom, it has just enough forgiveness for learners but enough drive and hold to keep more experienced surfers entertained. It gets moving early, feels stable underfoot and handles the usual knocks that come with beach days and crowded carparks.
